UAE and Rwanda establish their first Joint Economic Committee to improve collaboration


In order to improve opportunities for collaboration and partnership between the two nations, Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, met with His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, regarding the first meeting of the Joint Economic Committee between the United Arab Emirates and Rwanda, which was held in the country's capital, Kigali.

H.E. Al Kaabi emphasised the long-standing relationships between Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates, which are based on cooperative efforts at all levels and demonstrate both nations' willingness to strengthen and expand their ties for the benefit of their respective peoples.

Her Excellency continued, saying, "Over the past few years, the bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Rwanda have seen remarkable progress, demonstrating the leadership of both countries' commitment to strengthening these bonds." As trading and investment partners, the UAE and Rwanda have stated how eager they are to draw in more capital for developing economies.

Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State for the United Arab Emirates, and His Excellency Vincent Biruta, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Rwanda, co-chaired the meetings.

The Joint Economic Committee's first meeting was held in order to foster collaboration and partnerships in a number of areas of shared interest, such as industry, energy, education, space technology, environment, human resources, culture, and youth development, as well as to support joint initiatives aimed at advancing trade relations to unprecedented levels.

Her Excellency said: "The UAE and Rwanda are continuing their recent years of cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new prospects of partnership within the business sectors and across various economic domains with the first session of the Joint Economic Committee."

H.E. Al Kaabi confirmed that the committee meeting's objectives are to establish a framework and a road map for growing prospects and partnerships, as well as to promote successful teamwork and collaborations across a range of topics of shared interest.
